Don't want to make the impression that I'm against aftermarket. Some of the best accessories are aftermarket. But, as complex and expensive to repair as iDrive is, I'd hate to install an aftermarket device, and as remote as it may be, have something fail, and BMW tell me it's on my dime because of the aftermarket, non-BMW approved part.
