Check your paperwork/order receipt, but I would find it hard to believe
that yours was a "non-refundable deposit" in these current days...
Get the dlr to work with you, roll that deposit over to an X in stock,
and everyone is happy, imo.

I had changed my order once the car was built and they applied deposit towards new car. They don't want to lose sale, especially in these times.

If you buy a car from the same dealer, they should roll over the deposit to the car you buy.

If you decide to buy it elsewhere, the dealer may keep the deposit until the ordered car arrives and is sold and then you will get your deposit back.

Just a general question - what's the point of a deposit if it is refundable?

My Buyer's Order says on it...in large bold letters...

Talk to the dealer, he should be able to work this out with the appropriate paperwork, e.g., cancel the order, let the vehicle arrive and go into the dealer inventory, and then buy it out of the dealer inventory.
Good iea, but it hasn't started production yet(should this week) and delivery has to be by 2/2

That is even better, you are just buying another car from them and sooner, not asking for refund. They should be happy to do it.
