You can use them that way but they are not the intended use...

In essence they're so you can see the "edge of the roads" etc. in dense fog that hovers inches above the ground but I've been in those situations and they are of little help on vs. off. If it has to be in such a poor position, it may as well have been left off... passenger vehicles are slightly lower to the ground but still are susceptible to the same visibility and they go sans fogs plenty.

I thought they were going to stretch it a bit, and put the bulge back in the side.

I've waiting for BMW's announcment since Q3 2009... It just take too long...... and I pull the trigger for a MB E350 today.. I really want to stay with BMW

I had a 525i today and leasing expire soon,, You "BMW" made me upset !!!!! no F10 till June or August,,, 3 series LCI in May, X5 LCI in May, X1 till 2011, X3 till 2011.... I wish I did not have internet or read this excellent forum..... or I should say " BMW product planner screw up everything ! " I will not buy BMW stock as it will go downward, why made all loyal customer angry with their BMW Sales Rep ? I think BMW will loose market share... the only way they can do is keep selling more 323i with 1.9% interest rate and deep discount... where is your profit ????

then go rant on a merc forum. You might find some supporters over there! There's a difference between owning a stock for investment and owning a product for pleasure. In this economy investing in automakers in general is tough. Either way it is tough getting pinched between rides like you did. It is part of the risk you assume when you opt into a lease contract. Same thing can happen to you with merc or any other make. Ps sales reps suck everywhere generally speaking. Sorry to hear you went over to the dark side watch out for f10s this summer, they will be looking to pass you

The first undisguised two pictures. They are from motor-talk.de (our German car forum). One of the members has these pics from a German dealer.

Looks OK, but my fears of being disappointed by not waiting for the 2011 new styling have been assuaged... I mostly like it, but the fog lights look a bit odd and I'm not sure most people would even notice the difference if they saw a 2010 drive by, followed by a 2011.

An interesting test would be to park a 2010 and a 2011 next to each other, find someone unfamiliar with BMW X5's, and ask the which is the newer model. I wonder how many would get it right?

In Germany we have the same discussion with the fog lights.

All i know is the corona lights are now powered by LED. I dont know if the backlights even have LED for brake and direction indicator.

Corona lights aka angel eyes are same bright white LEDs as 5 GT and facelift E92. The taillights had CELIS LEDs on pre-facelift and they just made them bigger starting with F01 7-series which is what we see on LCI E70.

I agree with Penguin, I'm not disappointed that I got my 35d last week, as I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't have gotten as good of a deal on a 2011, and I was getting a little tired of driving the convertible around in mid-winter. It looks nice, but I think the 2010 looks nice too. The only gripe I'll have is not having LED lights, which I think this new one has, right?
