Fuel consumption on 3.0d and 3.0sd

I know you dont buy an X5 to be economical, but I was just wondering what type of fuel consumption people were getting from both these egines.
Thanks

I've got a 3.0sd in australia, took delivery april '08, I've done 26000km's and my avg fuel consumption since purchase has been 9.5L/100 (~25mpg US)

about 4,000k's of that was an interstate trip, the rest is daily commute and weekend driving. plenty of right boot I might add the pull in this thing is great fun

3.0d here with 1500kms so far
average consumption is about 10.2l/100km (about 23mpg)
went up to 10.7l/100km (about 22mpg) after mounting the Pirelli Scorpion ice & snow winter tyres)
mainly city driving (80%) with an occasional highway trip (20%)
I'm still breaking in so I'm easy on the right foot without being a snail... just going along with traffic...

just came home after a 1500 mile roadtrip mainly on the German Autobahn ...
on this trip my 3.0d averaged 25mpg (US) or 9.4l/100km
it was loaded with a roof top box so I guess I could have averaged 26mpg without the box...

wow, what do I do wrong. i was hoping for better mileage as well, 12.2l/100km here
but maxed out on the hwy everyday, and rest heavy city, so I guess that is not bad

3.0sd sports, i have done 5000kms so far, 12L/100. is that too much or it's getting better when i have 26000kms

depends on where you do most of your driving - if I was doing nothing but city driving with generous right boot I suspect mine would creep up to 11-12L/100 too
