sliding / tilt sunroof - idrive error

After 18 days in the body shop I finally get the vehicle back (looking perfect on the repair, btw). As soon as I jump in there's an error icon on the dash.
I go to the service menu and this is what it says:

It will only pop up & down, but won't slide open at all. I've heard of people using the tool to open it but does that reset it somehow? I don't really need to open it as an emergency right now, I just want to get it back to working condition and/or reset this. I didn't mention it to the body shop guys because it was closing time and I didn't want to leave it there again.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Looks like all you need to do is the basic common reset. Try holding the button in the up/vent position... it should start moving after about 20 seconds and will go through the complete movement all the way through (as long as you don't let off) Once it has fully closed and stopped moving, it should be back to normal operation.

This is the way to reset the sunroof, i had to do it twice and after every reset the error goes away, not sure what causes it, once it came on after i replaced the battery, and just last week after washing the car.

Thanks, looks like that did it. Appreciate you saving me a few hours taking it to the dealer for a 1 minute fix.
