True, not a lot, but the few times I have ridden in the back I felt that the X without sports pkg and no 3rd row, rode same if not stiffer than mine which has both.

The two are set up differently for sure. The 3 row X5 weighs an additional 300 pounds and has a greater payload capacity too. The rear springs gotta be much heavier than in the 2 row.

i could be talking out of turn here, but the diesel motor may actually weigh more than the 3.0.

so Moon, are you telling me my 4.8 w/o third row has a different suspension package and less capacity than your three row 3.0?

care to prove that thru a 1/4 mile? or maybe the ride to Knoxville?

Stang,

Not really !!

I am comparing the 35d with and without 3rd row. If you look at the curb weights and capacities for 35d, you will see that the 3 row weighs 300 pounds more AND, is rated to carry more cargo... More is less when it comes to speed and efficiency however! Thats why I passed up a 35d in the color I wanted, with much more equipment for only a grand more. Did not want the extra weight of the 3 row (and loss of the spare tire space). I got no kids and will never use the 3rd row. Would have been nice to have the nav and back up camera but I did not want to drag around an unnecessary 300+ pounds for the next 80,000 miles....
