I'm keen to know, in the process of buying a set of 299 wheels that were taken from a X6M.

Has anyone mounted E71 X6 wheels on a E70 X5 without any problems?

Are there any other options beside changing the bore rear size? What about spacers or rear hub adapters?

There are so many variations of X5 and X6, you need to be sure the X6 wheels you're considering have the appropriate offsets. X6M wheels are likely to have very aggressive (low) offsets, which is probably OK if your X5 came with "big" wheels and fender flares.

I had the X6 rear wheels bored to 74.1mm but found the hubcentricity to be a bit sloppy, so I'd recommend 74.0mm.

Our X5 currently fitted with 214 Y spoke with fender flares

10JX20 ET:40
11JX20 ET:37

229M's rear offsets are slightly more aggressive

10Jx20 offset 40
11Jx20 offset 35

Think the only differences is the bore diameter for the rear.
