If you have to rely on mods to get involved, it becomes impossible to moderate (or it is called bimmerforums)...it is much better when other members provide the guidance, set the tone, correct and guide...because then it becomes a forum of people developing a shared concept of the community in which they want to participate. Folks that are reading, following an issue- perhaps not participating- develop an understanding of what the rest of the members expect and allow.

I am sure the moderators have seen this thread (you can report it, as I am sure you know) but perhaps they are hoping all parties involved will settle down and recognize that there is a consensus here - where I think the members and moderators sensibilities coincide.

What? I think you want the Encyclopedia forum...

Your responses post "my call for moderation" are hilarious, really they're quite comical. However, as evidenced again, none of them have anything to do with the "Engine Malfunction Reduced Power" issue.

So why post, unless it's to simply feed your own egos and apparently satisfy some perverse need to maintain your reputations in front of individuals you'll never meet?

Do you have anything further to add to your elementary statements, or would you like to get back to assisting those X5 owners who's vehicles are experiencing this problem?

Some of you, have been extraordinarily helpful in your comments, and to those of you thank you very much.

For those of you who are challenged by intellect, and proper communication, shame on you. But, hey, your comments did boost your total thread counts.

So, keep up the good work ladies and gentleman, or at least ladies and men. It's quite obvious some of you haven't a hint of sophistication, whatsoever. How you're able to afford $70k vehicles is beyond me, but, I'm quite sure that the transference of wealth from one generation to the next has much to do with it.

After all, with your attitudes, who in their right mind would ever employ you, that is to say, who would employ those of you to whom this "end thread" is geared toward?

Again, to the rest of you thanks kindly! I'll report back when the solution is found.

How rude! Are you advocating Communism then ?

I think the crux of the matter here is that the X5 E70 is too sophisticated / complex for you. Have you never had to reboot your PC ?

And please, when people call to questions your reports or those "NHTSA" reports, don't ultimately assume they called you a liar. Sorry if some didn't agree with your every chirp as absolute fact. It really is no wonder why your SA didn't feel like helping you and in the grand scheme of things I don't think BMWNA or otherwise fears you not spending maybe 200K with them every 3-5 years. (or even 50 people not buying them)

I wouldn't have replied with such attitude if you didn't confront people who have been on this board for nearly half a decade helping others.

Spot on, well said.

He is more so pretentious. It seems he thinks he should never be questioned and then when he had no retort he commented on the mods being at fault or that everyone here simply got their vehicles from mommy and daddy. He apparently hasn't been around enough to realize some of these visitors drop 4 times what he spent on his vehicle on their rides, but hopefully this mess encourages him (a the like minded) to go somewhere else. This forum and its original forum have been beacons of knowledge for hundreds if not thousands he obviously has no consideration for that, and he like to drop titles such as his 'lawyer wife'. No taking into account that those on this board are lawyers, doctors, execs, BMW reps and the like. Oh well, no big loss.

All in all - let's stay positive and if there is a fault in the 35d let's find it and make the X5 a better vehicle for all of us.

The point of the matter is, even if it were 2 complaints, or 1 for the sake of argument, the issue is not being taken care of by either our dealers or by BMWNA.

By searching this forum alone you'll find FAR more than 3 complaints. In fact on the front page of the forum, I've directed a previous poster to a second thread in which one dealer did step forward and replace a fuel pump, while others have been left to having their vehicles towed and returned with no resolution.

Thunder your point as no validity. No one every insinuated it was a systemic problem, only that it was a problem. Furthermore, I never insinuated that there were thousands of vehicles with this issue.

What I very clearly said is that there are thousands of X5 owners who are not members of this board.

Thunder, the vast majority of your threads are of a contradictory nature. When someone claims they have a problem, almost without fail, you claim they don't.

That's a wonderful trait, and I know exactly who can use your services: BMWNA's Customer Service Dept. You'll fit right in. I'll even give you a glowing recommendation.

In the meantime, every board needs its troll. So for now, I'm happy to have your extremely relevant comments contained herein. Thanks! Keep up the fantastic work!

The first instance of getting personal in this thread is by ABMW. In post 31 quoted above.

This thread feels like bizarro world x5.com. lol
