Care to share the part number of the item (final stage resistor) replaced, thanks! Just wonder whether it has something to do with the blower since I can hear the sound of the blower working except that there was no airflow from the main vents. The problem appears to me like a major flap after the blower is not opening, hence no airflow.

Nothing listed after part number. Just this:

a/c quit blowing any air from vents- when pressing max button air flow gets slightly better and there is blower noise coming out of dashboard

blower output stage, front permanent failure
6411225 replacing regulator for blower of heating air conditioning system

8555 was

1 64-11-9-146-765 blower regulator: 641020

fc: 6411271200

16065 a/c blower final stage resistor shorting out. replaced a/c blower final stage resistor.

here is the original link. I forgot that they ended up also having to replace the blower cause the short caused it to go out of balance.

I also have a problem with the ac as well. It was in last year for the service and they ran a leak test and found no problem. They said it was out of freon so they recharged it and it was fine until this year. It's in the shop today and they said the same thing that it had no freon. They think it could be a slow leak, so they want me to bring it back and leave it there a couple of days. I mentioned something about the resistor and they said it wasnt it. Any ideas?

If it is off and on I had this problem and it took two years to fix. Finally I called and brought it over while it was doining it so the SA can see it still was not fixed. They ended up keeping it two weeks and the contol module was replaced. Then it worked fine. Mine was also a 07. I also read about some consdensation shorts in some units but this was not my case. If you hit MAX and no air comes out of the center vent and they are open it has a problem.

Hi emcman;

What control module were you referring to, and do you have the part number? Thanks!

My 07 4.8 ended up being a BMW buy back and I threw out all that information. I have had a 10 35D X5 for two weeks now which is flawless. Sorry I know it was about $600 for the control module for the climate control but do not have a part number.
