new x5 pricing...
what's the average above invoice or below msrp price? I'm assuming the price on bmwusa is msrp...how do i find the invoice price? looking to get a 2011 x5 diesel. Any tips on negotiating the price down? I'm in Houston, Texas. Thanks Franklin

try doing the internet inquiries from sites like cars.com or edmunds or kbb. They will have the local dealerships contact you via mail or phone with sometimes quotes. that you can then shop from there. some are haggle free and will give you a great deal from the get go. good luck.

Horrible deal, ideally you want to work off the factory invoice pricing and negotiate their profit over that. This obviously would also include the Eco Credit.
A great deal for the X5 35d would look something like this Invoice($61,765) - EcoCredit($4,500) + destination($875) + MACO($300) + Training($200) + dealer profit($500-1,000). I used a made up invoice+options to use for this example. |

You might have to call 4-5 dealers, but great deals are out there. Dealer pricing is dynamic from week to week. A dealer that might give one person a legitimate invoice+500 deal when he has quite a few allocation slots, might be unwilling to even give a 1000-1500 deal when he has 1-2 allocation slots left. Call around, and look at the whole deal. Don't focus on a particular number, but what the total drive away price will be. It's ultimately what you are comfortable with. There will always be people posting amazing deals etc on these forums, but don't get hung up on those. Find a deal that you can live with, without regrets, so that you can start enjoying your vehicle when it comes in. |
