thought they got rid of 3.0 in 2011 for 35i? Turbo! Hey it makes a difference to someone like me.

I see 4.8is 0-60: 5.9sec while 35i: 6.4sec

Yeah the new 35 felt pretty damn quick when I drove it....almost at quick as my 4.8. But the soundtrack was like going from led zeppelin to def leopard! And even though a half second is so so irrelevant in a ridic heavy su(A)V....the mere idea of goin to 6.5 instead of 5.5 from lets say 6 flat pisses me off haha The more I think about it ...I am the asshole my family says I am hahaha Stereotypical American...obsessed with power and over indulging... but hey...we are paying serious bucks to drive this thing are we not? Might as well be able to put a frown on the face of morons in shitty imports and such haha

I knew it was too good to be true haha Thats ok lemans. If only I was smart enough to catch a smooth deal on a 2010....but no. I have to be that moron who seeks poor financial decisions like its his job. And to my brother above^ yes there are others out there facing the same ridiculous decisions and leaning the way that screams unnecessary

Headed down the the dealer today for my back to back comparo. We're in a heat wave here in NJ so I know I won't be feeling the full potential of each X. At least the conditions are equal, to be fair.
I'm also going to be putting 2 car seats in the 2nd row and see how that works with access to the third. I'll take pics..

Which dealer did you go to? I was at Park Ave today, decided to not pull the trigger.

Well, I test drove both today. For me, the V8 is the only way to go, it wasn’t even close. The power delivery of the V8 in sport mode was something that will put and keep a smile on my face every time I drive it – and that’s a very important factor when parking a new vehicle in my driveway. I don't see how the 6 will keep me satisfied. I'll be pulling the trigger in 2 weeks and taking delivery the end of August. Now the final decisions on colors and options need to ironed out.

Price not an issue then.

Why bother to ask then, obviously money is no issue. If money is an issue then buying the 6 with options that make the vehicle look great will always overide a 8. People will only look physically at an 8 because of sound. You can make a 6 look very smart with options and still be well under an 8 price and everyone will look at it regardless and say shit thats nice. Just my thoughts.

Just my thoughts. But both are very reasonably priced in the US market....unlike the unfair pricing in oz. (just a fact, not trying to sound ignorant) I am in the same position as him and I can understand his need to reach out to others and ask. And last but not least "making your x look smart" is in the eye of the beholder. For my needs smart means 50i with a tow package, and cold weather package. To each his own, this site is about asking opinions even if your decision is already made! Bottom line a fully loaded six does not always override a specifically optioned v8, especially when gas is 3 dollars US a gallon
