Those are incredible foot well and trunk lights. I just bought my 09 X5 35d and the already installed all the upper lights with LED lights. There is one in the rear passenger that is flickering, but I think it is lose. I should take a picture and show you all.
Anyways, I have always used V-LEDS.com |

Is your question: How did I take out the whole assembly? or What lights did I replace stock bulbs for which LED bulbs.
First all the interior lights are the same size from the overhead lights to the underdash and trunk lights. The official light bulb is a 2825 bulb. I used a 194 in all headliner lights. Here are the actual bulbs I used in the headliner front and back. This one is in the front headline center: http://a763.g.akamai.net/7/763/1644/...p/VPID/5768086 The rest of the dome lights were replaced with these: 2 V-LEDS 6K WHITE 194 13 LED LIGHT BULBS 158 168 2825 These bulbs are bright and have a great surround light, but the bulb itself is too long. So I am going to move the those bulbs to the under dash lights to brighten it up. A good bulb for the map lights should be directional. Something like these: V-LEDS HID WHITE 4 M-SMT 2W HIGH POWER BULBS 194 168 158 Hope I answered your question. Anymore questions I am here. The front assembly which holds the 2 maps lights and the center welcome light is really easy. The second row lights is a little more tricky as you need a small flat head screwdriver to start it. Then use a medium flat head to push in the metal piece and it "should" pop down. |

Thanks to Epacy I ordered some of those lights. It was very easy to replace them except for the units under the doors. Man oh man, who decided to make the wires so short, it was almost impossible to replug the new units after pulling out the old ones. The wires are so short they're barely out of the opening. I did the two front doors and out of fear for not being able to put in the new units, I left the two rear doors. Just wondering if others share same experience.
They do look really good though. |

I do remember one or two being short. I THINK, they come out a bit if you tug on them gently. Don't come back here cry'n to me if you yank them out. You should be able to get the back door one's in too.

Do any of y'all live in the Dfw area? Since this is goingto be my first time screwing with the lights, I'd be more comfortable knowing there is someone close enough to help!
