Finally

As the title states - I finally installed my LUX V3 LED Angel Eyes! They look great. Very bright, closest I've seen to OEM BMW LED AEs. 1 Pic attached, I'll try to take more later this week...

There are a few options, but IMO, yes. No fault codes, pretty even lighting, pretty bright. I was at the dealer picking up a Mini on Monday and parked next to a 3 series that had OEM LED Angel Eyes, and while you could tell a difference they looked pretty good side-by-side. 2012 x5 models will have them OEM, so I suppose the 'best' option would be to swap out headlight units, but that procedure will likely be a few grand...

IMHO, I find the OEM LED's on the 3 to be "too" bright. I'm more into being understated than LOOK AT HOW BRIGHT MY LIGHTS ARE! I think between Audi and MB, this is getting a little out of control..

Funny you say this, yesterday I saw 2 3er coupes...and the LED Corona Rings were way very bright and "look at me". Oddly, the LED rings in the new 5er are of course crisp and bright, but they look more refined and conservative.

Being honest though, I love the way they look in the 3 Series though. It's just a cool, continuous ring..not little LED dots like every other car maker has. BMW's use of LEDs is the most elegant IMO!

would you put an LED strip inside your headlight housing?

Have you ever seen an e70 with the LED strip inside the headlight housing like an audi, the strip everyone now has? well i did once in my neighborhood, i almost broke my neck when i saw it.IMO, it looked UGLY. idk why you would do that to your x5. wish i would've had time to take a pic.

Isn't there an LED strip that BMW sells that you can add to the older X5's ???

I think they do seem to look a tad bit brighter on the 3 than the 5's I've seen.

I think the Audi's and Porsche looked nice when it first began. Then I saw MB's latest, as well as Audi's. Oh boy, it starting to get WAYYY out of hand.
