That list was for Houston...there are a LOT of European cars running around Houston. Not nearly as many as Ford trucks or Honda sedans I'm sure, but if you look around at any single second on the highway you'll be able to spot a bunch. Its not like you're looking for a Bentley or a Shelby Cobra or something.

Oh, about WHY? I read a report from Allstate about what happens to cars/trucks stolen in Texas. Nice cars are taken far south of the border and resold. Not so nice cars and some trucks are used for the drug trade. Most of the trucks are used for illegal human traffic across the border. They didn't mention anything about chopping. I'm assuming that they wouldn't want to steal anything that could be easily fingered because a lot more than just "a stolen car" would be exposed if they're caught.
