Yes I edited the original one once I figured a couple of things out. Turns out my dealer "swapped" a production slot with another dealer to get my X5M a bit earlier. CA said what happens is the other dealer has a production slot open already and they give it to them and yes it shows the wrong options but they said not to worry that it will change once it goes into production to the correct stuff. So based on your estimates I may be looking at early to mid June. Excited!

Yes I logged in to MyBMW and added a New Vehicle and it asked me for either the VIN or Production number. I had to log out & log back in and now it shows my X5M at Step 0 ( On Order)

I want to reiterate one of the things said earlier - VERIFY your vehicle inquiry report. I have twice ordered BMWs and twice they were not ordered correctly. The first time it was caught while in production so could not be changed. They tried to sell it to me that way but I refused and they were able to give me a different (properly configured allocation). More recently even my build sheet was correct but apparently some buffoon at the dealership made unauthorized changes and I was never told. When I arrived at Performance Center I found the option missing. Since PCD requires documents signed in advance I had already owned the car so I had to take it as-is.
Bottom line, check, double-check, triple-check... then check again.

That would suck. How do I double, tripple check? MyBMW doesn't show the options yet so I can't tell from that. All I have to go by is the salesperson saying how it was configured when entered in the system.

Ask him/her for the "vehicle inquiry report" which lists your VIN, color, trim and Options. Make sure it all matches to what you are expecting. Get this on paper so you can take time to review and confirm it, then hold it to ensure they don't change it. Luckily this last time, I had mine in an emailed PDF because they tried to tell me I hadn't ordered it. I would also confirm it with a current dated VIR again when signing the contract and or prior to delivery.

What is common is what I described (and the rest of what he explained) in that the configuration shows a different car for a while. They swap your order for another car they had previously ordered for a 'stock' car. But not with other dealers... unless you are paying MSRP, which might be a different story. Anyway, good luck A |

I'm only repeating what the salesperson told me. He said they were going to try to do this to see if they could get me the X5M a week earlier than what they would be able to do otherwise. He did say it's rare and that the other dealer has nothing to gain other than they would be "owed" a favor for a swap the other way around. Again it may all be fluff but that's what he told me.
BTW - Paying $1K over invoice on a fully loaded 2012 X5M so nowhere near MSRP plus Money Factor of .00146 (3.5%) with no money down other than the multiple security deposits to lower the money factor. Also got dealer to throw in the Stone Guard (3M) Film as part of the deal! ![]() Quote:
