good point. Actually my ex gf rode horses, and had tan interior on her e53.. her riding pants stained the bottom (i think the dye from her saddle wore off onto her pants, then wore onto her seat bottom)-- never tried to remove it, but i know her father is a car freak and think he tried multiple times. no luck

Do you have cream cleaner in the states? It's what I use to get jean marks off my cream leather office chair. A bit of scrubbing does the trick in no time.

The E39 M5 was a great car. I had an '02. The X5 with sport package won't disappoint in the handling. I've got the 50i and the performance doesn't disappoint either. Although the AWD prevents smokey burn outs.

You'll like the modern features such as iPod integration, bluetooth hands free, hard drive based nav, etc.

2011 X5 35d
Sparkling Bronze
Oyster Nevada leather
Dark Bamboo wood
Premium package
Premium sound
Technology package
Sports Activity Package
Cold weather package
Trailer hitch
all weather mats all around
DRLs disabled
roof rails
no drilling for plate/stickers

I also ordered and received my pet partition from England. They say it fits all E70s from 2007-2010 so I do not see any reason why it would not fit my '11

What recommendations do you folks have?
Just curious -- when I went in to the dealer on Saturday (the 6th), they said it was too late to order a 2011, that production had ended. Did you get in on the last day, or will yours be a 2012?

OK, So i hadn't checked this for a few days... let see, where to begin?

If I can disable/enable the coronas, then great. Afterall that is what I am after. I haven't picked it up yet, so nothing is set in stone.

I didn't order the spare; I intend to pick one up later on in the vehicle's life once the OEM tires wear out. No sense in getting it now.

I was on the fence about the Oyster vs the Tobacco leather. I decided on the Oyster after considering the heat right now. I have charcoal leather in my B5.5 and my truck and it gets extremely hot. Since I opted to not get the perforated leather cooled seats, I decided on the Oyster. I keep my vehicles extremely clean and have very little concern about the ability to keep the Oyster clean.

I'm sure I will enjoy the OEM functionality that the technology package offers. Previously I buy cars lacking the functionality that I want, then I replace with aftermarket solutions. This time, I am purchasing a vehicle with what I want, and how i like it. I do miss my M, but I'm very excited for my X!

I ordered mine on 8/1 and my rep didn't say anything about having to get a 2012. I still haven't gotten my VIN yet, so maybe I will get a 12. If i get a 12 for the price of an 11, then even better :-D

I also put in my application to do the performance driving center delivery down in SC. I pay air fare, they put me and a guest up in a hotel and feed all meals. The next day there is classroom instruction on the specific vehicle, then the road course. Since it is an X series, there is also an off-road course that I get to do. After that, I tour the plant, then tour the museum. Once that is done, they give me my new X5 and I start my journey back home. Sounds like a blast!

If you intend on getting the spare I’d suggest you get it now and not later…

Hmm... maybe I will. If i get it through my special program, the spare is only 90 bucks.

I'm getting the whole deal for 700 over invoice.

$90 is nothing. I'd jump on that and you are at a point where you should be able to modify the build. $700 over is better than what I did. Jealous of your PC delivery.

You will indeed have a blast doing this. While not part of a vehicle delivery, I attended a similar program a few years back. The off road course will absolutely amaze you regarding the off road capabilities of the X5 (and I was driving the earlier E53 model). I'm considering doing this as well when I take delivery of my 2012.
