Hello everybody!
just wanted to give you guys an update on the situation! The car is still with the BMW dealership. They did verify that the DVD are fine and work in another vehicle. They were trying twice to do the software update, but it got stuck around 80%. Since the car was several times jump started by the previous owner, they believe that a module got damaged or lost its address or ... Additionally, they want to exchange the TCU (Telematics Control Unit) which shall arrive today ... Well, in the mean time, I enjoy driving a brand new 3 series convertible with shift up & down paddles on the steering wheel ... Thank you for your feedback! |

Got my lovely 2008 X5 4.8i back today ...
this is what the reports says: "47912 Faulty DVD drive connect IST/D V 2.27 Perform vehicle check, follow sib 65 01 10 perform test plan W6590_WAS2-CCC malfunction replace DVD drive diagcode 6510_CCC00000_03_002 DC6583901800, LO 0058318, LA 17 FRU"seems odd that the DVD drive was faulty ... as the original DVD was still working ... and ... now the gears are shifting much, much smoother but, my iPhone 4 w/ iOS5 is not pairing again w/ my car ... and I cannot delete it in the bimmer ... as it is gone in my iPhone ...
