Active cruise is worth every penny! You have to read up on it, as it won't stop for stationary objects, but it will come to a complete stop if the car you are following does. It will also accelerate from a dead stop once the car in front of you takes off again, I.e. At a stoplight. It's a trip to get used to, like we're one step closer to automated driving. You'll never want to go back to the old school cruise control, and you can use it all the time.

Beautiful ride, awesome color combination. Enjoy!

Does it have the new headlights (white angel eyes)? Looks like it came with the shift paddles... I just placed an order for my xDrive 50 a few days ago, and hope that it will show up with all the new things.
Yes, it came with the white led halos. Pretty sure that's standard on the new ones. The paddle shifters rock, especially on the windy roads.

Beautiful x5. Got to drive the 5.0 flat out at performance center. Hell of a vehicle and the exhaust sounds awesome; although too quiet for me. Going to try to code those paddle shifters to work with my 35d ; )

Does it still have a tendency to slow down when passing a truck? I followed a 650i with active cruise that did that over and over. It got annoying to follow him, not having active cruise myself.

You ought to "not" hear the 550i with the same motor. I went for the X5 50i just so I could hear it.

I was listening to it as my wife drove away today, for a family car it has just the right amount of exhaust noise. But if was my primary ride, I would definitely go with an aftermarket cat back kit.

OK so I have not posted on here for like 6 mos. because I was waiting to get my mods done (time flies!). Anyhoo here's what I did:
  • Bimmian tint film on tails, side & rear reflectors
  • 30% tint on the fronts, 5% in the rears
  • Carbon fiber emblem overlays
  • Black grill inserts
  • 15mm H&R front spacers
  • 20mm H&R rear spacers
  • Dipped the rims black (it was either that or get the $6k black rim package!!!)
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, they don't do the car justice:

Black out all the chrome, including badges, and maybe tint the roundels
