Larry Cable, when you get the car, see if one of the rear doors is slightly misaligned. Should be most obvious when following the corner/line that runs from the fender through the door handles to the tail lights. After 3 X5s, the guy who installs it at Spartanburg is still really bad at it

Uugh! ... thanks I will take a look! ...

I will of course plaster pictures of the beast here!

actually I am a bit surprised that its been built so quickly, it was scheduled for wk 20 build, which I think is the week after next, I did not want to collect it until 6/15 but now the dealer is hinting that they wont keep it around that long when it arrives.

Yeah, they're ramping up production or something. When I ordered my other two X5s, they took 1-2 months. This X5 I ordered was placed on 4/17 and it arrived at the dealership on 4/30. The salesperson wouldn't accept me waiting until 5/01, as he had a quota or something. Caught off guard at how quick it took to build to my specs and get here.

sigh, its nuts, you should be able to decide (within reason) when you are going to buy/lease it ... I fully expect my car to arrive at the dealer within a couple of weeks since the production system claims its sitting awaiting transport from the plant ... but I dont want to collect it till mid-june ...

I placed the order with the dealer explicitly choosing the wk 20 build because that would likely deliver around 6/15 ... grrr

Your CA can look up the arrival eta at the Oxnard VDC. Mine is 5/16 and as of today is at port awaiting a 'shipping vessel' aka a train outta SC. Mine's flagged a priority 1 and I expect it within a couple days of the 16th - my dealer is about 10 miles from the VDC. I would guess they've scheduled yours accordingly and will hang tight at the VDC before loading on a Waggoners transport for the haul up North. Will be interesting to see how they de-expedite yours relative to mine, which I need asap. Looks like we may be on the same train, unless they hold it at the port of exit to make your requested delivery date rather than the VDC or dealer.

FYI, every car that is sold to a customer that hasn't been produced yet is a "Priority 1". It's just code for THIS FOOL WANTS IT, HURRY THE HELL UP BEFORE HE CHANGES HIS MIND. Nothing special about Priority 1 at all.

Same here, Mine arrived 2 weeks earlier than expected :/ no big deal for me though I don't mind making two car payments on the same month...
