Interesting that you should bring this up, I just called them this morning to file a diminished value claim. They will cover it but the burden of proof is on me. I may be way off but I was thinking I could pull the NADA trade in value and then go to a dealer for a trade in quote. Anyone have any experience filing a claim like this?

Maybe it was a Ranger fan. You're brave for wearing that Isles license plate. I'm too scared to put a Capitals plate on around here for fear of the Turgeon/Hunter incident inciting all the Isles fans.

Yeah, all 11 of us. Not too many isles fans left out here, year of sucking has taken its toll.

There are a few guys that will give you a 'package' with which you can press a claim..... getting a number here and a number there will probably not carry the day with the insurer. You want a broad survey with data AND then tie that to your ONE example.

Not sure what they charge, but if it is a few hundred and gets you 2500, might be worth it.

I agree, it is just a matter of finding the right guy who is willing to help.

I had my 07 X5 in a similar situation with pregnant wife sitting at red traffic light, guy hit her from back lightly causing lower tailgate damage as yours bumper in tact but had a faint line running on top of bumper. I just put it in the shop, the lower tailgate was around $600. Bumper also has to be replaced since when they took the bumper off 4 clips were broken which are a part of the bumper. Mind you, i dont have the newer bumper so no paint work needed. Also diminished value I asked for had no luck so just left that argument.

Good luck.

What was the total bill for your damage? I would say that the tailgate and bumper need to be completely replaced and there is a little bit of damage to the lift gate as well.
