2. You will need to redo any individual coding you have, make sure you use the manipulation profile first before you do step 1 and backup all your .man files in the work directory as you read each module that you plan on defaulting. Apparently there is another program that allows you to save your coding while changing the FA, but I haven't used it.

Edit, I just looked at your FA trace, why are you changing your date to 1011? Not sure if you will be able to code the FRM with that date, since the script may be expecting FRM3 (which is what came with that build date)
Doing exactly as you outline in #1.
CAS works great, and is done.
FRM will not let me code the module without giving me the error as outlined. I can read it, save the .TRC as a .MAN and re-code it, which of course does nothing, but I can't code it with an empty FSW PSW.MAN file in FSW PSW or Expert mode. Always gives the same error...

The date was changed to 1011 for the CIC retrofit. Should I change it back and re-try the FRM?

Thanks,
JOhn

You will can manually change the FA date back to 1011 when you need to read CIC or combox. Thats how I did mine, I never wrote a newer date to any of the modules.

Thanks again!
I'll remember how to code things now.

Do you have the height adjustment option for your power tailgate in the CIC?
Just wondering if there is an option I should look for.

Cheers,
John

There is an option, if you can wait till tonight when I get home, I'll pull a trace from my CIC and attach it. You should be able to compare to see what you need to add.

Hi Blue,

I coded the CIC with the 0713 date code in the VO, as you mentioned, and have the menu for the height adjustment of the power tailgate now.

Thanks again, you're a lifesaver!

Weirdness...

On occasion when the X5 is running, the power tailgate won't close.
It closes all of the way, doesn't latch and then opens about 1/4 of the way and stays there. Doesn't matter which button/keyfob that I use.
If I turn the engine off and then try one of the buttons/keyfob it closes completely.

Seems like something with the CAS...

Anyone seen this?

Thanks,
John

No, I haven't had that. Are you sure its not a problem with the microswitch for the latch?

I don't believe it's the switch, because if I open the lower tailgate the top won't move... and I think that's by design.
I did re-flash both the CAS and the HKL, just to be sure they were OK.

I'm beginning to think it has something to do with my remote start. When I remote start, then try to use the tailgate, I get the weird behavior as mentioned, but only sometimes. The remote start can also mess with the logic in the CA sometimes, so I think the 2 are related.

If I don't remote start, the tailgate works as it's supposed to...
I'll do some more digging to see if I can nail down the chain of events that seem to cause this.

Thanks,
John
