You have to lean your head so far back in order to rest your head against them, they are kind of pointless and almost seem like they aren't there. hahaha... it's your car and if you plan to keep it for a long time it should be the exact way you want it. i know with audi you can purchase the comfort headrests separately from the accessories catalog but i don't know about bmw. i contacted my local dealer parts department and that was the price quote i got for the set... not worth it for my issue but maybe it is for yours?
