any DIYs on replacing the alternator on an 08 E70 with 4.8i

Hi,

I'm trying to replace the alternator on my 08 x5 with 4.8i and it looks like one of the bolts is hidden behind an accessory pulley connected to the alternator. Problem is I cant get the pulley out. since it looks like there is a bracket in the way that looks like is connected to the power steering pump. I assume that needs to be removed probably from underneath the car. what a pain.

Has anyone ever replaced their alternator? any tips?
Thanks.
