vynn is on a distinguished road
I'm having the same issue with a seat pulled from a 2015 X5 which I'm attempting to get working as a racing simulator seat. With the main power and ground connected to a 12v battery I'm not getting any power to the seat controls.

There's a secondary ground and a second, smaller power wire which correspond with the lumbar controls of the seat and when I connect those wires to the battery, the lumbar power works. I just can't get any power to the main movement controls working.

The OP suggested the issue may be related to K-CAN module and I've suspected the same thing. This is the wiring diagram for my seat:

There's a small yellow/brown & yellow/red wire pair that connects to K-CAN2. I read somewhere that that a 5v power source may be needed for where those wires are connected, but I'm not sure if that's the correct solution or not. I'm not sure what part number I would need either.

Any suggestions?
