Yes it was.
Two things happened that caused me to cancel the sale.
One was that we had rain the night before and my son told me the box got wet (I was away from home).
Turns out that the sub (which was wrapped in bubble wrap, placed in a plastic bag, placed in a corrugated box, and wrapped in plastic) did not get wet at all.

Number two was (and maybe it was you and that's why you are asking) that the winning bidder just signed up for eBay that day, and I was extremely uncomfortable sending it to a zero feedback, one bid buyer.

I sent the buyer that message too.

You can choose to call me overly cynical, but after 20 years on eBay, and 10 years on E46Fanatics, and 7 years on Xoutpost, I am going to remain cautious.

no i was not that bidder (my ebay feedback score is in the thousands) but seeing this thread finding that auction and your message stating that you will only accept cheque or money order and will not use and can not use paypal leaves me at the conclusion that there is something funny about this sale. I hope who ever makes a deal with you on this has some sort of insurance or type of recourse if and when this sale goes south.

And I do know you will probably say something about how old this account is etc etc but being a senior/paid member (different account) i think you can keep that comment to yourself.

Great. There is nothing suspect about me.

I simply live in a world where people have discovered ways to rip off others.
I choose not risk my hard earned money on anything that doesn't feel right.
Hence, my preference was someone local to NY/NJ.

So don't spew your assumptions on me.
