Subwoofer enclosure

Don't know if I had officially put up a FS thread, but I have custom made subwoofer enclosures for sale.
Have shipped out 2 already, have 2 more ready to be shipped out, and if the demand exceeds, will have more made within the week.
Each box takes about 2 days to make, so I believe the price is very reasonable considering labor time and materials alone are close to that.

I also have a pioneer 10'' shallow mount subwoofer, which is ideal for this set-up. I have the same in my x, and it sounds amazing.

Box: $100,
With sub: $150

Hey, could you post some photos of the space behind the speaker, along with the depth? Have you calculated the total internal airspace?

Thx

Can you put the panel back on to hide the subwoofer or it has to be off? Do you have a pic of it installed?

Sorry for the delay in responses. Have been quite busy putting all of these together.
Changed the design slightly, and interior comes out to around .40-.45, and probably larger since the polyfill fools the woofer into thinking the space is bigger.

Panel can be put back on after installed, but I think it sounds amazing with it off. Some people have cut a grill into the compartment cover, I think I might do that soon as well.

The one pictured is set up for any shallow mount sub really. I think it's a nice happy medium on interior volume. Not too big and not too small. I'm honestly still amazed at what my little 10'' can do. It serves all of my "bass" needs so to speak.
If you need anything more than that, most likely you would have to abort the compartment enclosure, and have a regular box and lose your cargo area. But I think anything more than that is just obnoxious. Even at full blast this is pretty outrageous.
I think the biggest thing that does it for me is the fact that I can actually use my entire trunk. This is the first time I've been able to have the bass, and the space (Might have to name it the "Bass and space package"!)
Also, if you have an 8'' I can just cut the opening smaller, just would need to let me know.
I would recommend the pioneer, however I know that JL just came out with a shallow, but just by the looks of it, it looks pricey....
I'm on the verge of buying another one though myself and maybe making another custom enclosure around the spare tire well.

If anyone has any questions though, please let me know. I'll be putting up pictures shortly.

viola

Fits perfectly.
Sheri - There is no danger to have the compartment door off. I choose to have mine off all the time actually. Of course, if you had to lug a massive item in your trunk with the tailgate open and it was pouring rain, I would definitely put the cover back on.
Installation is very easy. There are four screws connecting that white plastic fuse box to the frame. Just need to remove those, (don't worry, everything is harnessed in there quite securely) hold it out of the way, slide the box in, replace fuse box.

So the enclosure is only held by the fuse box screws? What about on the bottom side are there and brackets or clamps for that?

No, there is a little indentation in the compartment area, about 7 inches in, where the wedge on the back of the box fits it, so it sits in there. There are also two places to put mounting brackets that I will post pictures of a little later, but I've been using it without them and it still sounds solid. Doesn't move around.
