Yes you do. You see, your current box doesn't even have a BT pairing button. In addition, you see that little gold stub sticking up? That's the connection for your external antenna for your current phone. So I'm pretty darn sure you already have the bumper mounted antenna.

They've got the snap in, but can't find the p/n for the eject box. Parts Manager acknowledges that there obviously has to be a part for the snap-in to snap-in to, he just can't find a referense to the p/n.

I can't BELIEVE how stupid this is.

Can you (or anyone) give me a p/n for the eject box?

The eject box for my 2002 is 84-21-6-933-415. Have him check the part to make sure it is valid for your year. I can't believe he can't find it.

He found the snap-in. Can't find the eject box.

Your post says "snap in" but maybe that's a typo

My mistake, that's the part number for my "Eject Box"

and a trip to Pacific, I now own the proper Eject Box and a snap-in adaptor for the E815.

Only remaining parts I need are the VR module, the Bluetooth/Assist ULF and the bluetooth antenna (which probably comes with the ULF - but I'm not going to assume anything)

I'm still getting conflicting info from BMW parts regarding the ULF I need. Pacific BMW (which was otherwise helpful, and had the elusive Eject Box) insists that I need 84 21 6 934 552 and insists it comes w/Assist. However, that conflicts with bluetoothyourbmw.com.

One step at a time.....

Here is a VR Module on eBaY for $189.99. It's a fair price. Send a PM to KewlX5, he just bought the "552" module and could tell you whether it has assist or not.

NOTE: I just moved this thread to the BT forum

The bt/assist modules all come with voice input (for phone only) other than the very first release (-993) - so you dont need a seperate voice input system.

You may run into issues with the cradle and BT/Assist in the 04 due to what BMW called "wiring incompatibilities", so start by getting the basics working first (non-cradle) ... and then investigate the cradle later.

You'll need coding on the vehicle once the new BT/Assist TCU is fitted. It also quite an expensive part ($1200 ish).

Point BMW to the following SIB which details the upgrade. All will then be clear to them ...

SITUATION

On a vehicle equipped with BMW Assist™ (SA 639), a customer would like, at their own
expense, to upgrade to a Bluetooth® enabled handset.

On a vehicle equipped with phone preparation (SA 640), the customer would like, at their own
expense, to install a BMW Assist™ TCU with Bluetooth® technology.

A customer no longer wants to use a CPT9000 handset with their BMW Assist™ system.

Pricing on the latest iteration of the TCU (84 10 6 963 798) is over $1600 at the two stealers I called (Assael and New Century)

Any more detail on the "wiring incompatibilities" with the cradle? The only wiring that needs to be provided by the cradle is power and antenna. The antenna should be exactly the same connection currently being used for my CPT900. Power is just, well, power. Everything else would be handled by the BT connection. What am I missing?
