What happens when you have more phone numbers than the ULF has room?
 However, RIM, in their infinite wisdom, decided that the address book "Hotlist" feature is no longer valuable, so they deleted it from the Pearl!  As a result, the address book transfer for the Pearl is an all or nothing thing. (Every other Blackberry with Bluetooth that I have seen has the hotlist feature. I spoke with RIM directly, and confirmed that they removed the feature from the 4.2 OS.) My problem is that my phone will not stay connected with the car when I have address book transfer enabled. I do not know if the problem is bad characters in the address book or if it is just too many entries. I have somehting like 450 phone numbers (and 380 contacts) in my database. I am trying to figure out if having too many phone numbers will crash the connection, or if the problem may be something else?

I answered my own question...
If you have too many phone numbers, the ULF address book transfer works just fine. It just quits receiving (not sure the pattern) some of the phone numbers from the Blackberry. My dropped connection problem was caused by having bad data in the phone number fields. I had alpha characters and other junk in my phone number fields, since I imported the contact database from my Palm. The Blackberry worked great after I did a laborious contact database cleanup.

Oh yeah, the Pearl is fraekin' awesome, and I highly recommend it. In my opinion, it is the best phone ever!
I consider it the best phone ever within its class of similar devices-- the small units primarily optimized for phone use. It is definitely not a substutite for the full-sized PDA devices like the Motorola Q or Blackberry 8700. If you had to use the phoe for a lot email and typing work, it would fall short (mainly because of the smaller screen and tighter keyboard). But, if you are looking for a great small phone with a robust information manager, there is no other even close.
