This

Is the flash memory for the 2.4GHz radio.

What is on the other side of that daughter card?

Under that daughter card. Remove the screw, unplug an photograve the underside. You may find a CSR radio there. I think you might be dissaponted, as it looks like you have the same unit (albeit CDMA version) Stringback has here.

Mine had the same, complete with Bluetooth boards inside, but I never got it working. I bought a ULF in the end.
Anyway, back to yours.
As jochen explained to me the firmware that it runs may not allow Bluetooth to work. He can change the software settings with navcoder but not the firmware.
So, I strongly recommend that you buy navcoder and let jochen play with it online.

Check that one. CSR = Cambridge Silicon Radio = Number 1 Bluetooth supplier in the world.

Corresponding the BMW SB, TCU produced before 08/2004 doesnt have working bluetooth.

I fixed this by replace my unit to the one produced in 07/2005. Easy plug-n-play replacement, voice control etc. Mine cost about $100 (used, in Russia).
I talked with the one unofficial bmw service man, he told me that he can hack these early TCU, but I never check this - I have one worked.

I bought another one, produced in 2008 for my friend, it was european and has the sim-card slot on the side, some phone functionality worked, but in common it wasn't paired with my cellular, I mean this TCU was working as independent phone.

I'd like to note also that since 2008 was BMW information bus type replacement IBUS -> MOST (optical) so be carefull when buying fresh TCU - if them marked as MOST - but your car has IBUS it wont fit.

So it sounds like I don't have Bluetooth?

Any recommendations as to what I need to purchase to en Ble the bt on this one? Replacement chip or whole new box?

Regardless if someone can point me I. The right direction I would appreciate it. Very new at this type of stuff.
