bigx5er is on a distinguished road
Day 2 and the rear speakers were the plan. The rear sunshade is a major pain in the ...

Funny thing is the first one popped right out. You stick a small screw driver in the little inside top crack of the shade and push the bracket up. Boom - the shade popped out. Bad news is on my other rear door, it refuses to come out. It appears it was smashed into place at the factory.

The rear doors are harder to work with than the fronts. The door handle light is mounted tighter (and it broke the minute I took the door cover off). The door itself doesn't seem as easy to put back on. And finally the window shade is difficult to put back in.

So, I now have one door that is installed (with a broken door handle light) and another door that I can't get the shade out of.

I know someone on the board replaced the rear door speakers without disassembling the entire door. I'm going to PM him. The woofers can be replaced easily without taking the entire door apart. The tweeter looks harder. I may just have a dealer help me disassemble and reassemble the door.

Before I give a final conclusion I'm going to let the speakers break-in. The woofers are "tight" and need some breaking in, I'm hoping they get a little deeper sounding with time.

Overall the MB Quart system sounds fast and crisp. For some it may be a bit too bright (and this set was noted as brighter). With a decent sub the brightness would be fine. Without it I'm going to reserve judgement until everything breaks in.

The installation instructions would benefit with more info on the wires behind the doors and more pictures/description of the rear door install. As an example, the rear doors only have 3 screws holding them in where the fronts have 4.

Shoot me any questions, happy to share my experiences to far. I haven't tried the dash speakers yet.
