DICE Troubles

Tom,

I have Sirius installed on my car, will that alter the functionality of the IPod aftermartket wiring, DICE module and Spec Doc?

You can try disconnecting Sirius and plugging the DICE in directly.

Tom please help

Alright, thanks to BSW and their very detailed instruction I have installed my DICE link. Can you please tell me what is wrong if I can not get the display through the CD display, I knew how to set it on the ICE link but I can not do it on the DICE link for some reason. Also with the 2point spec doc can I still have a video signal out put through the 1/8 inch plug/headphone jack on top via av cable?

You will need to press CD6>TRACK4 then return to CD1 to enable text display on a X5 Business CD.

The DICE is not compatible with the new e70 X5.

The BMW iPod kit will work with the e70 - so you still have an option.

Hi Tom (and anyone else who'd like to put their 2 cents worth in),

A question re the DICE set up and specifically re the cable that runs into the cabin.

Have placed my order and am awaiting delivery of the DICE unit in the next couple of days. Have started prep'ing the car for the cable route. Will be installing the ipod in the lift up armrest in the centre console of my e46 coupe.

I would like to know whether I can cut the cable and then re connect it with a click together type socket connector which I plan to situate on the cable at a point where it is under the back seat cushion. Also if this is possible, do you know how many individual wires there are in the cable, and whether or not there is a connector available that I could use.

Regards,

Emile.

Emile,

Do not cut the DICE cable, this is a good way to ruin the DICE and/or iPod if connected incorrectly. This will also void the warranty.

A better idea would be the use of a rubber grommet to close up the hole after drilling.
