Should i have the DIP off off and off off or should i have it on off and off off. I have the 01 w/ tape deck. In the manual (page 9) it states that the early models w/ tape deck should be on off (car) off off (ipod). I had this way awhile back then you told me to have them all off
thanks
The DIP switches should all be in the UP positions on X5 models. If the positions are changed, a battery reset is needed.

FWIW, I am having the same issues and that solution does not work for me either. I have come to accept (perhaps wrongly, and I'm willing to be corrected) that the DICE is a satisfactory yet imperfect integration. My text scrolling usually comes back after the unit has been in operation a while, sometimes after I change playlists as well.

It has to be something w/ the intergration. Everything else works perfect minus the scrolling. It's like yours, sometime it will work right away and then if we turn off the X to go shopping and turn the X back on then it will not scroll...

It does not bug my wife but bugs the hell out of me. I am a person if i buy something i want it to work they way it is stated to work. I just wanted to see if Tom had any info that i missed but i have done everything that was stated in the set up.

You should call DICE and let them know. 1.888.342.3999. I have been talking w/ Adam since Aug. He is a really helpful and you should just let him know that it is happening. The more people call about this issue then maybe they will move faster. I called yesterday and he took my name down and said he was going to talk to the techs and tell me when they will have in upgrade ready.

Adam usually talks to us on the BMW applications - but a phone call wouldn't hurt.

THanks Tom!!!

I have them all up (off) but wanted to double check w/ u. Just on page 9 it states:
CAR configuration switches:

dip switch 1 dip switch 2 (off and off)

Recommended for late model Businees This setting is to be used on
CD and Navigation radio systems

dip switch 1 dip switch 2 (on and off)

early model Business Cd and Business cassette units

I have the Business cassette unit so that i why i wanted to ask you if i had them right, all up (all off). I just do not know what years are early when they state "Early models".

He is a really helpful. Have you talked to DICE about this issue? He states that people have called about this issue (not scrolling) but was not sure if it was other car makes...

Cheers,

You should be in the all UP positions for the X5, the e46 3-series is a bit more sensitive to adjustments - requiring the config. change.

Can you read me the numbers from the bottom of your module, beneath the barcode?
