DICE module not recognized after installation
Since I can’t get any answer from my two email ( 1st of DEC and 3rd of DEC ) send to EAS Support, I believe they are busy or something else, so I come to the forum and to this particularly thread to see if someone as a suggestion to my problem. Recently bought a DICE kit and I followed the manual instructions for DICE SILVERLINE module installation, I have a X3 from 04 with NAV System on a small monochrome color screen and CD changer installed. Do the following: 1 - Hung up the battery cables 2 - Removed CD Changer 3 - Dice module installed 4 - Battery cables reconnected 5 - IPod Nano 1st Generation ( Firmware Version 1.3.1 ) booted and connected 6 - Dice module doesn't recognized by BMW system ( when mode button pressed nothing happens!!! ) Disconnect battery cables again, CD Changer reinstalled, battery cables reconnected and everything back to normal. I missed anything ? There is any possibility to test Dice module outside car ? Do I have to do something that I did not ? Any advice will be appreciated... Thank You |

All I can suggest is to double check your changer cables to ensure that you've connected the module cables to the correct one. I know that my X5 had two cables from the cd changer box.
Aside from that, I can't see anything you may have missed. I've had to reboot my DICE module before, and done so while driving. I've actually unplugged the module (all cables) and reconnected them because my iPhone was showing as "Detached" in the display. I didn't have any adverse reaction to disconnecting the device without removing the battery cables, or even turning the car off. I know it's not recommended to do so, but, I figured I'd let you all know that I did that without any negative results. Quote:

i apologize if this may have been covered already, this thread is massive and i'm short on time; please excuse me.
What is DSP? What is the difference between trunk/console interface and radio interface This will be installed in an 04 x3 (premium sound) no nav. I wanted to swap out the headunit, but from research, i don't think the stock amp works without the OEM HU? Would someone please confirm? |

The Trunk/console interface would be recommended. Your CD Changer connectors are located underneath the center armrest in a cloth sheath: DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Kit for X3 04-08 (Trunk/Console Interface) http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...oducts_id=1628 Simply plug in the DICE and you're set.

Tom, in the installation Guide/ User Manual, I missing page 9 to page 16. Any importance do I need to know? Could you please guide me to any forum with show the instruction how to use the Dice. Electronic Noise
Tom, my DICE unit is working fine (2005 X5 4.4, trunk mount, Sirius, NAV no DSP), but ever since I installed it I have noticed that there is a vague electronic noise every time I turn on or off the radio or, when the radio is on, when I switch between modes (such as going between Sirius/FM/CD). It’s a sound like one might get when an FM radio is first turned on, for example, sort of like a brief second of static. Everything seems to work just fine, but I am wondering if you have ever heard of this before and what it might be. Could there be electronic interference caused by the DICE unit? I just want to make sure that I’m not doing damage to my electrical system by introducing the DICE unit into it. Thanks for all your help!!
