Installing a duo in my wife's '08 X3. I located the wires under the center console; there are TWO six pin connectors. One of them is labeled 'CD'; I get no sound when I use this one. The other is unlabeled. When I use it, I get sound.....from the right speakers only. Any tips? Thanks.

EDIT:
a little more on this problem. when i select ipod mode, the radio displays TEL in the lower left corner & SEND/END on the right, like i'm in telephone mode. The audio adjust controls (fade, treble, etc) are all disabled.

i double checked my three wire connector and the brown wire is on the end (not the center). when i select FM after this, it appears TEL mode stays selected. if i remove the key, remove the iphone & insert key, it goes back to normal.

Welcome to the wonderful world if DICE products. I've been trying for a week to get a Mediabridge to work with my 04 X5 with absolutely no success.

I'm about 2 days from pulling the whole thing out and returning it. It shouldn't be this hard.

agreed. my next step will be to plug in the unit at the trunk harness rather than at the console harness. if that doesn't work, i will check the connection at the back of the head unit. if that doesn't work, the unit is defective.....

what's going on w/ yours?

Mine shows track titles, etc on my CD53 in both iPod and Bluetooth modes, but I've got no audio at all. I mounted mine in front of the center console, I've got signal at the end of the DICE harness, and signal at the back of the radio, but nothing through the speakers. I've sent DICE 3 different support requests and have gotten no response, and I spoke with someone there last week, and they weren't particularly helpful.

The only thing I can think of at this point is that the input voltage to the CD53 from the DICE unit is too low. I can't get DICE to tell me how much voltage I should be seeing at the radio-they had me check for signal by cutting an earbud off of an old pair of headphones, then sticking the wires into the plug to see if there was any signal there.

Apparently my Bluetooth works on outgoing calls, since people can hear me, but I can't hear them.

I'm going to try calling them again today and see what they say. I've exhausted just about all of my ideas on why this thing isn't working.

Sounds like the sub connector on your CD53 radio multi plug may be inserted upside down, or even in the wrong socket - it's quite easy to do if anyone has ever taken it appart.

I'll double check that....I don't think it is, but I wasn't paying really close attention to it. I've got a wiring diagram for the CD53, and I verified that the wires coming into the plug that goes into the back of the CD53 were on the correct locations on the plug (pin 2 is ground, pin 8 is L+, pin 9 is R+), but I didn't really look to see if it was on the right set of pins....I assumed that the plugs would be slightly different to keep that from happening.

Assuming it's in the right place, any other ideas? Any idea what the output voltage of the CD changer is supposed to be? I checked voltage out of the DICE unit, and it was bouncing around 1V to 2V....that seems low.

Got the Dice duo in my BMW x5, seemed to work fine when I installed it, upgraded the software to see if some issues with connections would become better, I need to restart the box manually every time I start the car! Anyway, updated firmware and now the sound is terrible! Anyone have a link for some old firmware? Or an other solution to my problem?

You probably need to change the connector behind the CID unit (head unit). There are two behind the radio
