Any other possible solutions? Is it odd to not have any power to the iPod when docked and all wires are connected?
This is normal operation. Does the X5 recognize the DICE module at all? If not, you may have zapped the module or it could have been defective from the start.

The X5 does not recognize the DICE module at all. This is the 3rd unit that has been tried on my vehicle. A car audio shop tried initially with 2 different units. They sent back one of the units and got this 3rd one. I tried installing the unit myself this time around with no luck again.

Is there any way to tell whether there is a problem with the DICE modules vs the BMW stereo connections?

Interesting - where are you getting these modules? We have no problems with installation in the X5, even with the new iPods.

Feel free to contact me directly by phone if you would like assistance in real-time.
