Thanks!
Is the backlight on your iPod? Is there a considerable amount of difference with the backlight on/off?

For the noise to go away the backlight has to come on (i.e. when I touch the controls) and the noise returns when the light goes off.

Sounds like an open ground loop or the module is picking up interference. Where is the DICE module located?

The module is located in the same compartment in the trunk as the Nav and cd changer.

There are a lot of electrical devices in there - try relocating the module to a different area to see if the noise is reduced/eliminated.

Problem with '06 BMW X5 non-dsp with Sirius

Gentleperson,

Purchased an IPod intergration kit a year ago to install in my '01 X5 with DSP. I have now installed the unti into another X5 ('06 non DSP but with Sirius).

The kit was never installed into the '01 X5 and now I have installed the wiring loom and the IPod specdoc in the ashtray. The device does not have power (or work) and I have read I requrie another wire (or kit) to complete the hook-up since I have Sirius radio. Of course I have not hooked up the DSP filter as I do not require it on my '06 X5. I have connected the correct three pin wire (brown wire on the outside) and still not working.

To complicate things worse (and I do not know if it matters) I have the Sirius disconected and the BMW IPod cable installed by my dealer. Plus the vehicle has factory installed bluetooth capabilities (no telephone installed but use my mobile).

Please advise what else I am required to do to complete the install.

The DICE module I am using is I-BMW-T - DL-1002 - SN A00025-0606.

Cheers,
Chip

Check the 2amp fuse in the DICE harness to see if it has blown.
