Here's the kit you need:
eas - 714.369.8524 | DICE - MediaBridge iPod/iPhone Multimedia Hub for e53 X5 (Trunk Interface)

Available shipping options will be provided as soon as your shipping info is entered.

I own a 2008 X3 with (or without) these features:

1. No nav
2. No CD changer
3. Already Bluetooth enabled
4. Business CD head unit
5. No satellite radio

I'd like to pick up a DICE unit but I don't know which one is best for me. Here's what I'm looking for:

1. To use my steering wheel controls to control the iPod
2. Discreet and seamless installation (no wires showing or iPod just laying about)
3. I'm not interested in Bluetooth or satellite radio connectivity

I currently own a 6th gen iPod but I might buy a new iPhone when I upgrade my phone at the end of the year. I haven't decided if I want to stick with my Android phone or not.

What is the best option for me?

The Silverline DUO will fit your requirements, here's the kit you need: eas - 714.369.8524 | DICE - Silverline DUO iPod Integration Kit for e83 X3 (Trunk Interface)

Thanks. Just ordered one now.

I assume there's instructions or at least videos on Youtube to help with installation?

It's ridiculously simply on the X3 - simply pop out the center console bucket (pulling up on it) and locate the 3/6-pin CD Changer connectors and plug in.

Let me know if you have any questions come install time.

I am trying to find the correct model DICE for my vehicle but getting a little confused.

I have the 06 X5 e53 - it has CD changer in the rear which I understand it needs to be disconnected and plugs used for DICE system
I have the NAV system, no DSP, no digital radio etc - Ipod is a Nano 8gb (latest model)
I dont need any bluetooth capability as I already have the BMW bluetooth for my phone.
I also have the BMW factory Ipod system which wont charge the latest Ipods hence wanting to upgrade.
Can anyone help with the model/specs etc of the DICE module I need to order?
Lots of them on Ebay but as Im in Aus and they are all overseas I want to be sure I get the correct one and dont really want to pay for all the extra's that I will never need.

Cheers

The BMW iPod system will need to be removed and wiring returned to stock. Afterwards, any of the trunk interfaces can be used:

eas - 714.369.8524 | DICE - MediaBridge iPod/iPhone Multimedia Hub for e53 X5 (Trunk Interface)

eas - 714.369.8524 | DICE - Silverline DUO iPod Integration Kit for e53 X5 (Trunk Interface)

Both kits install the same, only differences are within the features.

I have installed the DICE silverline Duo but I dont get any sound, just a bit of crackling etc, songs show up on dash etc.

I removed the original BMW Ipod module, do I need to remove any other wires/connectors back to the radio?

Thx

If an OEM BMW iPod was in place - verify all factory wiring is returned to stock before installing the DICE kit.
