Ah OK so you have a 2 channels amp then and I assume you want to feed one Sub only, right?. Is your amp bridgeable? Can you bridge the 2 channels into one? Not all amps are bridgeable so it should be clearly specified in the documentation of the amplifier. Be aware also that by bridging to get twice the power on one speaker. The bridged rating is usually listed with the spec of the amp.
Anyway, you can feed your amp high inputs from pin# 7(-)/14(+) for right speaker and 10(-)/2(+) for left speaker. I only used 7/14 in my case because I used a mono channel amp

ok, i know that my amp is bridgable, and yes it is one dual voice coil 10" sub that is wired to be bridged. this is what i have gathered so far:

i am going to connect the speaker high level wires into the factory 15 pin harness into #7 & #14. should the 4 speaker wires from the high level harness be bridged together if my amp is in bridged? (the amp does have a switch so i know it is bridged) i can just twist the 4 speaker wires from the high level harness together in pairs if needed. is the (chassis?) ground needed?

i am also assuming that the amp will still need to receive power directly from the battery, preferably with an inline fuse. is there still a need for the remote 'turn-on' wire? if so where do you recommend placing it?

You are only interested in rendering bass through your amp so connecting only #7 and #14 to the high level inputs should suffice. Yes you have to connect the ground too.
You should have 2 power inputs, 1) one for a constant +12v coming directly from the battery. You can get it from the power and ground point located near by the spare wheel. 2) one for the remote power of the amp. In a previous post you will see a pic of where I got the remote +12v from. any suggest Amp? and what kind of the connector should i use to connect with car wires. because the wire i know to the amp is using RCA cables. i don't know others . please give me some idea. thanks!!!

An example of a good mono amp for a sub at a reasonable price is the Audiobahn A8000T. It has both low level and high level inputs and got good rates from a lot of user reviews from what I have read. If I had to buy a sub amp now that is the one I would probably pick.

First did you check what type of connector you have? You may have to unwrap the black sticky tape wrapped around the box connector to look at the connector and wires. If you have the 12 pins connector as described in one of my previoust post you will be able to feed the high level inputs (speaker level inputs) of this amp from pin #5 (+) and #6 (-) of the stock amp connector. You will of course need to connect the ground wire of the high level input to a ground somewhere in the car.
If you have neither the 15 pins or 12 pins connector described upper in this thread the only other one I am pretty familiar with would be a 42 pins connector that are found in other BMW models equiped with Harman/Kardon audio like some e46's for example but which I have not seen on an X5 yet.

after getting a chance to do it and having some nice photos/diagrams to work with, the install went very smoothly. the hardest part has to be interpreting your way down to the hiding battery.

the system sounds better than ever, i added a planet audio dvc 10" with 800 watts, hooked up mono. now the next mod will have to be the super smooth 10" speaker retrofit if i ever get around to doing it. i just had to get rid of those dual 6" "subs" because imo they sound like crap, especially now that there is a real sub back there. after using the eq to scoop out some of the 80hz and 200hz is sounds great cranked with minimal front speaker buzz.

i think anyone willing to give up a little extra cargo room will be more than pleased with this mod, and i cannot thank alpac enough for his help and expertise.
