I purchased the 1500 with bluetooth and it was a snap to connect. However within a day the bluetooth audio from started to cutout about every 10 seconds for a split second when using my iPhone. It gets kind of annoying after a while. Anyone know what could be causing this? Also, I have an 01 X5 with the business CD but I can't get the text to display. Is an 01 business CD too old to display the text? It displays text when I listen to the radio.

What OS is running on your iPhone? Is the same behavior present with an iPod?

I have OS 3.1.2 on the 3G iPhone. The dropout only occurs when I use the bluetooth. When I hook it up with the USB, it works fine.

I cannot recreate the issue here - is your iPhone jailbroken?

Tom maybe you can help me?
I bought the Mediabridge a few weeks ago from you guys and I've not been able to get it to work correctly. I've detailed my problems here Dice Mediabidge vs Intravee - The Unofficial BMW M5 Messageboard (m5board.com)

Mine is not jailbroken. I unpaired it then paired it again. It worked for the first day, but I haven't had a chance to check it since. But I am still unable to get the text to work.

Your post on M5Board is a but confusing, but let's try to clear things up. You state your text looks like this on the NAV screen:

I've seen this before, it's a result of using a an older radio module which has a bit of issues with text overlapping - this has nothing to do with the MediaBridge unit. This often happens on non-M models that upgrade from the 4:3 to the 16:9 screens.

Unfortunately, the radio will need to be swapped with a CD53 unit to correct the text display, or I can see if DICE can present the option to display text on the OBC instead.

Tom that's exactly it! Thanks for the info, if you don't mind can you see if Dice is going to do anything about this (firmware or otherwise)

This whole ordeal is such a pain in the ass, I wish dice would have explained it or at lease said it wasn't compatible before I bought it! My car is an M and it came with the 16:9 so I'm not gonna change the radio out. I guess my only 2 options are a fix from Dice or returning it and going for the intravee.

To be perfectly honest - it's not a situation that comes up often as separate fields are used from the NAV screen and Radio module - which cause collisions such as these.

Typically - it's only seen from NAV screen upgrades, or a select handful of e39s from 00-01.

Is there documentation detailing bluetooth functionality? With phone pairing, how are calls initiated and answered? Is this done directly on the phone, or can this be done on the head unit controls (or steering wheel controls) that communicate back to the MediaBridge, which then communicates the commands to the phone via bluetooth?
