All features of this kit are compatible with my vehicle, correct? (bluetooth, steering wheel controls, etc...?) What is the difference between the front and rear mount? Just where the box is located? Wouldn't most folks want front mount, otherwise you'd have to run an iPhone cable the whole way to the front of the vehicle?

Also, is the iPhone docking cable an apple product? I am using the Otterbox Defender case on my iPhone, which has a slim opening for a cable to plug in. The apple cable works, but most aftermarket cables do not.
For vehicles will NAV, you have to use the trunk interface kit. The kit includes a 12 foot cable to reach anywhere in the X5 you like.

1st off .. time to upgrade bro lol go to verizon get the 4. show me a pic with the plug out of the hole. the iphone 4 bottom is wide open even with the otterbox. as ive said before, buy a used ipod for $30-40 on ebay and just leave it in the car. thats what i do. i ve taken it out twice to add songs. why keep plugging and unplugging the iphone wearing the plug and phone out?

I'm not going to buy a new phone and change service providers based on the cable included in this kit. My current phone works fine and I get a good discount on the service since I work for them.

I would rather just use the device I have now if possible as opposed to buying a used device on ebay. It needs charged anyway, so instead of plugging it in at work and at home, I can just charge it on my hour commute. No additional wear/tear.

Maybe I'll consider that if this plug isn't compatible with the case, but this whole conversation is irrelevant if it does fit

EDIT: Looking at your pics, it definitely won't fit.

Tom,
My 1500 has been working great with my Iphone 4. I use it with bluetooth and noticed after finally updating to 4.2.1 that I can use the steering wheel to control music over BT. But the radio still just says Playing instead of actually saying the title and artist. Do you know if this is a limitaiton with the Iphone or with the 1500?
Thanks
