I think that file contains most of the new software so you have to patch the file.

But has anyone looked inside that tioarch.tar and into those text files?! There are many interesting settings/options inside those .tio files. But do they actually change anything? Maybe someone should try...

No, I tried going back to V26 and no deal. I think the only way would be as Technic said to go back to the dealer for a recode. It might be a bit tricky if they notice the firmware version you have loaded in the settings menu ... or notices the boot screen image on start up

today i drove about 400 km.

I didn't get any problem.
If you drive 200 KM/h then the MK4 has to work as a Pentium Xeon. But the other way, if you drive at that speed you must look on the road

The problem, wath isn't a problem, with the street names, is with splitscreen gone. You have to test it by yourselve, go into Perspective view, and than to the North view or the Drive destination view, and look wath the view is doing with the streetnames, and the other POI's.

The look from the birdview is very nice, and is working perfect.

Oke the problem is there, that the BMW loge is changed by T26-09A

T=test
26= software version
09A= number of Beta

The other way, if you go back to the V26, everything is like the V26 except, you still got the Birdview But if you change the view it is gone.

Just wanted to clarify. if you downgrade back down to V26 the birdview will still stay? i want to see if we can get the BMW Logo back on the screen when you open the doors. anybody hear anything about this?

Sort of ... if you go back to v26 then if you were previously using perspective view then the map will still be displayed like that with v26 loaded. However, if you then choose to select a different map positioning, then only pointing north or travel direction will be available. No perspective view. So it doesn't really solve your problem with the bmw logo, unless you are prepared to leave it in perspective view permanently :-)

Guys-I am computer NOVICE. After unzipping file is the mdf file the only one necessary to burn to CD? I cannot remember what I did when I burned the v26 CD. Oh-thank you very much for this great find!

Use Alcohol 120% to burn the disk. Follow the same instructions as are posted in this link for V26 - http://www.xoutpost.com/navigation-sy...-released.html
