V26.09a install

Hi,
I just installed my V26.09a for my 7, & everything went just fine. I like the new perspective look, but I miss the "==BMW==" splash page/logo. Nothing like a free mod! Thanks to Appy for getting us the info & thanks to UcrewX5 for making it available & answering all the questions.

Well, many minutes have come and gone, and all I have is the T26.09A thing showing on the screen. It does nothing beyond that.

I've changed key positions, started the car, same result. So, now I cant see my radio controls either. Anyone have any suggestions here, or experience something similar? HELP!

As well, i then tried to put the old V26 update CD back in...nothing!

I need help from the experts here....Thanks in advance!
Chris, try pulling fuse #7 and #41. Leave them out for a couple of minutes. Make sure you put the V26 OS CD in the DVD drive before doing this, so that way when you plug the fuses back in and turn the key to position one, the computer should start reloading the system software.

I found out about fuse 7 and 41 just tonight after my NAV locked up. I didn't have to disconnect the battery to do this. Good luck. PM me on M3F.c to let me know if you're successful.

v 26.09 is older than v 26 ?

has anyone noticed that date of the main nav file in 26.09a is older than in official v26 release ?

26.09 is 05.2005
the real 26 is 07.2005

i think that cd 26.09a created prior to official release of v26

and i think that 3d view was canceled prior v26 release
and v27 will not have 3d too

in v26 there is code for 3d view
first off all, it is possible to find phrase "perspective" in navboot file on cd
and, as we all know, 3d view "temporarely" works if we downgrade to official v26

there is tar archive file on cd "tioarch.tar" which holds some *.tio files with variables for navi soft

maybe it is possible to alter some variables or add one which enables 3d

maybe it would be possible to enable 3d view in real v26 or maybe in upcoming v27 if bmw really decided to cancel it

-
Best regards from Lithuania

i burned a cd with a patched navboot including a individual startlogo now. Update is running but at the end it was displayed "a error occured..." and now the navi does not boot again.

any ideas to get back to the original software?
in worst case i have to send the navi to the manufacturer Siemens/VDO in Wetzlar (Germany)

edit: i took out the fuses 7 + 41 and after that i put the original V26.09 CD in. the normal update is running and now everything is ok

Thumbs up

Upgrade works fine for me (E38 740i 2000 with DVD nav MKIV).
All functions still work. The "perspective" view is fantastic imho.
Have tested all functions and cannot find a fault.
Thanks Appy for making it available
(Now if a guru can come up with a nice splashscreen )
