hi experts,

I read all posts about v26-09 and I did it. Thx to all who contributed.
First of all I burned V26-09 and installed it. Worked very well and I enjoyed it.

The more I read the more I feared to destroy my MK4. Next step: back to v26 and use birdview as well without possibility to change.

Today I had to to leave my birdview because I have visit to my dealer. I changed to normal view in order not to loose my warranty.

No problem with that. No difficulty to restore. V26 and v26-09 are burnt and easily to be reinstalled.

Much easier for me would be to have v26-09 in use, enjoy it and change in case of visit to dealer to v26. So I cant manifested as to be a betrayer.

There are so many posts how to change the image from v26-09 to whatsoever, but for me as a fool it is important:

is there anywhere a link to upload v26-09 with the normal ==BMW== logo?

?????MFG SLIA

Everytime I exchange the gif which is about 60kb, and I check the navboot file it appears it has reverted back to the t26.09a splash screen, anyone know what im doing wrong? If I try to change the 26.09a logo out it give me an error stating that the module length does not fit. please help!

Did you check the box "ignore file size"? the 60KB file bigger than the 4.5KB 26.09a logo. So you have to tell gifextractor to ignore the file size. Try that and let us know.

I did Bdman, I checked the box and that says ignore file size, it appears to replace the file, but when I check the file tree I cannot it doesnt show as being replaced. If I close gif extractor and reopen it the original 26.09 splash screen has taken over in the navboot. anyone know what im doing wrong??

@M3QP: I've got an ISO with the ///M logo you requested earlier. Where should I upload it?

edit: and thanks guys for the explanation about the 'update-to-the-same-version'. Should have found that by myself...

I hope you guys have seen what's going on over in the other thread titled "Enabling Features in V26 Code" http://www.xoutpost.com/navigation-sy...-v26-code.html

Nomad, and Amibishop, have managed to hack the original V26 so that "Pointing North" has been exchanged for "Perspective" view..!!

So you no longer need to have that beta software installed, and worry about wrecking your hardware etc.., and withthe hacked V26 you get back some of the features that you lost with the beta software...

True, although this thread is still applicable for inserting your own custom splash screen

Does anyone have the v26 iso [not the v26.09 beta] with 2wires' original splash screen of the bmw logo with the "====BMW====" below it? Please send me a PM if you do.
