2Wires - i recently downloaded the new version of GIF Extractor, but
when i attmepted to extract the navboot file, i get this error -

"An unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click
Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.
If you click Quit, the application will shut down immediately.

This device is not ready."

Details -

"See the end of this message for details on invoking

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog."

I had exactly the same problem on my Thinkpad lappy that I do the burning etc on. However I loaded it on my Server PC and it worked OK.

I wonder if it's the version of .net or something? I had it already loaded on the Thinkpad but had to load it on my server PC.

Don't know enough about this stuff to work out what the error means.

I did check the 'read complicated gifs' and 'ignore file size' checkboxes.
Have you tried to burn it anyway?

I've created a lot of GIF pictures over the last few days and (unfortunately) deleted all that didn't show up in GifExtractor. Today I learned that it might've been worth a try, since the one I created last didn't show up either, but I burned it anyway and guess what, it shows up correctly on the NAV, so...

I'm using the latest version of GifExtractor, but checking 'Read "complicated" gifs' dosen't help all the time it seems...

now, i notice, that if i have a CD in the CDROM drive, i still
get an error message. instead of it saying that the device
is not ready, i get the message, "Access to the path
"d:\test.gif" is denied." i'm a little lost because the
navboot file is on my desktop, not the d drive.

Ok guys,
check the latest version. The error with D:\text.gif is solved and more "complicated" gifs will be read.

Edit splash screen on Mk3 nav

Can you guys interested in editing the splash screen on a Mk3 nav check out my post below

http://www.xoutpost.com/navigation-sy...3-sat-nav.html

2Wires Gif Extractor / Replacer can load the usw_load files from the V26 Mk3 software, and display the logo...

Is someone willing to use 2Wires program to replace the splash screen in these files, and load the software onto a Mk3? I'm sure loads of Mk3 owners will be happy if it works!!
