BMW Assist

Hi,

I got carried away with all the updates for the Nav system that was going about.

Eventually I ended up loading V27 over the 26-09A tversion.

Anyway I'm convinced that I've lost assist. However having never really paid attention prior to uploading anything I have no idea. I do no assit was in the spec for the car.

So my question is this. Should Assist be a menu option like CD Telephone TV etc etc cause if it is then it's gone from my screen. How do I get it back.

First question is did you register for assist ie was it live?
Second do you have the telematics bluetooth or bluetooth preparation if latter then no assist is provided.

On your main menu screen can you see 'BMW Assist' but not access it or can you not see it at all. ( could you see it before your upgrades?)

I do have bluetooth. Although I've lost my card with the pin number.

The main reason I'm asking is at the weekend when I was going through my folder with all the books in it looking for the card that has my bluetooth pin number I have a booklet on BMW assist and thought am I meant to have this.

The pin number apparently is in the boot under the CD changer, I think, I read a thread explaining this in last few days on this forum, under bluetooth or the like.

Anyway check the purchase invoice it will state options chosen if it is 633 or Z6A then you have assist (Telematics) capabilities. If its 644 then you dont.

When your on the main menu screen you should see BMW assist but if its not registered then you cant access it. If you cant see it at all you dont have it. If you do the dealer should of registered this for you when you bought it but you would of signed the agreement form. With option Z6A its free for six months then its 300 quid a year. If bought used within the six months it is transferrable dealer would of told you, maybe.

Those books are pretty much generic when purchasing so it doesnt follow you have it in car even if you have the book.

If dont have your options list ask dealer to enter your VRN into their system your chosen options will come up on the screen.

I hope that makes sense mate if not let me know.
