I had exactly the same problem and I too thought it was "backup" dvd's to blame but no matter what make model or speed of copy the fault still remained - That is until I upgraded to V27.1 a month ago and the system hasn't rebooted once Very stable very happy! Do the software upgrade as soon as possible and you will almost certainly find no need to change your map DVD.
