Kris it worked great for me!
Do you know if this will work on friend's 2004 530 with iDrive (i believe it's DVD based so it should be MK4)?
How far back is this V28 back-compatible/upgradeable?

I have v28 already installed, did not downgrade it, tried your version and even it said "installing new sofware", it didn't change anything. My guess is you didn't go with KrisL-v28-v2, right :-)

How "dangerous" it is to downgrad the sofware? Anybody done that before installing "KrisL" version?

this firmware can't work without special recoding of mk4

Gren, what recoding is required? can't we downgrade to 26 and then upgrade to 27RUS?

v27RUS has no attitude to the project of russification.
Project of russification is v28 based and recoding of mk4 requairing
