Eh up Jester, you got it in one, so many people rush into stuff like this and end up "knackin" their nav systems, so well done. Good on yer!

here is what I did to try to change my MK3 from mono to color:

First tried a mode1 mk4 nav software that worked for my mk4 and killed the Mk3. Then used original v29.mdf(mode1) and recovered.

Then tried the following:

1. opened v29.mdf(mode2) with magic iso, replaced all the files in MK3 and CSB dirs with those from BMWCO1S, saved mode2 mdf, burned and did not work! the mk3 returns the disc back when inserted.

2. copied all the files from v29.mdf(mode2) to desktop, replaced all the files in MK3 and CSB dirs with those from BMWCO1S, drag&dropped them into mode2cdmaker, followed all instructions, same problem had, mk3 returned the disc.

Any suggestions please? what am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Just use NavCoder, sooo much easier, and the change is a proper change, not a hack

Thanks KiwiJochen, using Navcoder requires a Laptop and the proper cable to connect to my car, right? if that is the case, I don't have them...

Table of Contents on CD will be wrong. Check and note the TOC from oriignal CD:

Make TOC on new CD the same as original TOC
