You hook the laptop to the interface with a cable and then you hook the interface to the car with 3 wires. 12 volt, ground, and to the I-bus. Then run the Navcoder program along with nav OS disk. An example of the interface is the Resler Device.

Hey guy's...
Im very confused here, so hopefully it's not a very silly question - here goes: Is all this necessary, I thought the nav was in full color? Can someone please post some pictures of this great mod? |

There are two versions of the navigation system. There is the full color version with the screen in the dash. Then there is a version that has a simple monochrome display with limited graphics on the radio instead of the full-size color screen. Both systems use the same nav computer, but the nav computer must be coded to know which type of display is in the car. If you get a MKIV coded for the monochrome system, then it will not work with the in-dash color display until you get it recoded.
