Only after the Com port is setup, can you use NavCoder over the Resler interface. ie: plug in the resler interface, let windows find the new hard ware, wait till its ready (takes a few seconds thefirst time) and then use NavCoder |

Good work Jochen, tried it on E46 330Ci Convertible, MY2002/11. Works a treat. I used Resler's interface, v5 (USB version). Gonna try it on my brother's X5 with hybrid tuner and will let you know the results (looks positive so far).
For those of you asking about connectors, don't bother with a "BMW" conector. You could make your own using a 3 way header & housing http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...=1487&doy=15m3 http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...=1490&doy=15m3 If you just "tap off" for the interface then you can leave it in permanently and saves having to rip the internals of your car out to get to the CD Changer. I used the cable used for internal PC CD-ROM's audio http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...124010&_LOC=UK I have a TVonNAV cable so have just wired it into that permanently (I need the last used audio feature otherwise woyld ebay it!). Incidentally, here in US, hookup parts can be had here at your local Fry's, Digikey.com, or even eBay. |

Just tried NavCoder 2.0.17 and have to say I'm very pleased. Well done!
I just coded the TV tuner for in motion and it worked perfectly. I only have the analog TV tuner since I'm in the USA. I also played around with some of the other new features, such as the ability to read all the NAV/Audio devices ... very cool ! One issue I did run into though was under the Navigation coding option, I was unable to read the NAV settings. It always reported a error saying No data supplied (Null string). I can code the Navigation fine ... just not read the current settings? I was able to read the TV settings (and obviously code that). |

Great explanation. However if one is running windows XP shouldn't the operating system auto install the appropriate driver's for the hardware? The write-up from where I took that quote has a link to a page with drivers. I don't get it?

Question
Is this connector actually plugged into the back of the CD changer ?
I would like to see a picture of where it is connected, if possible ? Thanks |
